Lloyd Hébert    1932 - 2017

Piano Tuner & Technician, Musician

Lloyd Hébert learned to tune pianos from his father Wilton Hébert and frequently performed in the family’s orchestra. After graduating from college with his degree in music from USL in southwestern Louisiana, and with a growing family to feed, Lloyd began a teaching career in high school music instruction and private music lessons, tuning pianos occasionally.

After moving to the Dallas, Texas area in 1968 he started a thriving piano servicing business, later moving to Burbank, California.

Lloyd taught in the USC Music Program for 16 years as well as privately and at local colleges. He serviced pianos throughout Los Angeles County for some of the area's leading musicians and institutions.

Lloyd was also an active local musician performing on piano and trombone with his own bands and with the Chicago Six Jazz Band; he also toured with the Harry James Orchestra.

His sons Blaine and Wardell Hébert carry on the family trade in southern California.
